Health by Stealth – Sneak Nutrition into Foods

If you are someone who finds it difficult to incorporate healthy food into your diet – especially those that don’t taste all that great – you should give one of these easy methods a go:

Add a small amount of WHEATGRASS to your CRAVE IT! Berry or Green SMOOTHZ: Fruit smoothies do an amazing job of hiding the bitter, grassy flavor of wheatgrass. You’ll get the sweet, satisfying taste of fruit, but you’ll also know you’re getting the health benefits of the large array of vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids that are found in wheatgrass.

Add some TOFU to your stir-fry or pasta: Stir-fries and pastas are great for masking the rich-in-nutrients (but not so rich-in-flavor) tofu, especially if you chop it up into extra-small, hard-to-notice pieces. You’ll mostly just taste the sauce, veggies, and noodles that you’ve always loved; the only difference is that you will have added a healthy source of protein, calcium, magnesium, iron, and other vitamins and minerals to your meal.

Add some BLACK BEANS and CHIA SEEDS to your Do You Bake? Mom’s Chunky Chili: While the taste of black beans and chia seeds are not offensive to most people, they can be somewhat difficult to incorporate into your diet. If you don’t make a lot of chili at home, you should start. When you make your own chili, you can add these super-healthy ingredients (and others) that are not present in store-bought chili.  Add some heart healthy fiber, the sneaky way! Chia is also a great addition to hot cereals and they can even be sneaked into baked goods too!
